Angela and Kevin’s New Deck

| | | |

I’m taking you back to my sweet friends, Angela and Kevin’s house today to check out their fabulous new deck!

The above picture was obviously taken looking toward the back of the house, but we’re going to start our tour just as you step out of those french doors that you can see.

To the right of the doors is a cozy sitting area made all of the more inviting with the addition of a pretty umbrella.  The chairs were purchased five years ago from Target.  The cushions were replaced this year for the first time (from Walmart), but Angela says the chairs themselves look as good as the day that they were purchased.

Let me tell ya, I could wile away quite a few hours right here in this shady spot!

Did you notice how Angela used a plant bracket to suspend a glass float?  Love it!

The grilling area is located to the left of the doors that lead out of the house.  The french doors that you see here lead to their master bedroom and aren’t used to access the deck.

How about that snazzy red grill????  And yes – Kevin is quite the grill master!

Angela sprinkled several sea shells in the basin of the fountain that is tucked among those luscious ferns.

Love this cute little guy just chillin’.

The lower level of the deck contains a dining table, a roomy seating area and a portable fireplace.  Angela and Kevin get a lot of use out of the fireplace on chilly evenings.  It has a propane tank in the base and came from Kohls, but they have them at Lowes too.

The trellis was on their previous deck, but was repainted and moved to this location behind the chairs.  It is the perfect backdrop and helps to define the space.  It came from Simply Trellises.

Did you notice the lanterns that are hanging from it?

And the perfectly pretty, yet simple vignette on the table?

The sectional sofa and chairs on the lower level were purchased at Lowes.

The dining table and chairs are another Lowes purchase.

It was a perfect place for us to enjoy the great meal that Kevin and Angela prepared for Pookie and me.

The steps leading from the deck down into the yard are just to the left of the table and chairs.  Their contractor did a great job of tying them into the ground at the bottom of the steps.

As long as we’re already here, I think you’ll enjoy taking a peek at the rest of their yard.

There are several natural spots tucked all around the perimeter of the backyard.  Of course, each one of them contains a pretty vignette.

Can you see the stick furniture against the fence?  I just love the quaintness of it!  Angela said they purchased it up in Maggie Valley, NC about fifteen years ago!  They loved it so much that they moved it to this natural spot so they could still enjoy seeing it.

This natural spot is located directly off the deck…

…and contains this cute little bridge.

I know we’ve been concentrating on the backyard, but you need to see the front too!

Lush and full planting beds flank the sidewalk leading to the front door.

I love hearing the sound of water, so I would definitely enjoy sitting in the front porch chairs listening to this guy…

…who resides in the pond located right beside the sidewalk!

I sure do hope you enjoyed taking a tour of Angela and Kevin’s lovely yard and deck.

I have one more thing to show you that I’ll just let speak for itself…very apropos.  Just sayin’…

Thank you for coming to hang out with Angela and Kevin today!
