Seaside Tablescape

| | | | |

On a recent trip to our beach condo, the weather was perfect, the waves were gently rolling in and a soft breeze was blowing.

The gentle sound of the ocean was calling me to put together an intimate table for two for a relaxing seaside dinner.

A piece of fabric that I casually draped over the table and the deep blue of the water inspired the colors for the table.

It was a happy coincidence that the fabric (from JoAnn’s) and salad plates (from Target) look like they were made for one another.

Very simple – just as things should be at the beach.
Nothing complicated.  Nothing fussy.

I just had fun pulling things from around the house and playing with the table.
I even used paper napkins and plastic cups that I already had on hand to help keep things easy going.

These adorable crab napkin rings (a Christmas gift from my sweet stepdaughter Miss B) were perfect for this table.

The dinner plates and soup bowls are part of a whole set of dishes and serving pieces that I scored at the going out of business sale when the Pfaltzgraff outlet near us closed several years ago.

The colors and wavy design around the perimeter of the plates are perfect for the beach.

A perfect setting for a casual meal for two at sunset.

I’m so glad you stopped by!

  1. So cute Suzy, I LOVE that fabric! I know you had fun finding things in your decor to pull and use on your bright beachy table! I do the same thing when I’m at our coastal home, it makes it a challenge when you don’t have the stash of linens and dishes like you have at home and all the more fun! Your table is so inviting and the view is gorgeous, I would sit on your balcony for days!

Your table is beautiful, Suzy! The colors with the sand and ocean as a back-drop cannot be beat. I adore sea shells and they add such a wonderful touch to your arrangement. Totally awesome!

  7. What I wouldn’t give for a place like this at the BEACH!!!!!!!!!! The dishes and cloth DO look like they were made for each other. Your table is bright and cheery and would make any meal better. XO, Pinky

  8. I do love that fabric, too!! Oh, and those crab napkin rings – I am drooling over those. Our condo is fairly high up in our building and I love it most of the time, but you can get to the beach so much easier from yours. Jealous about that!!
