Hi Suzy! Our great room floor plan looks very much like yours I am trying to decide on a new paint color. I really like accessible beige and was wondering if you are happy with that color? I love reading your blog and looking at your pics of your home! Thanks so much!

    1. Hi LIsa. I’m VERY happy with Accessible Beige! It goes with everything I put with it, it doesn’t seem to have any pink, purple or green undertones and it looks wonderful with gray, which I love to decorate with.

I just found your blog and absolutely love your decorating style. Will be stealing quite a few

We recently downsized to prepare for retirement. I went from having a huge kitchen-really too big- to one about the size of your kitchen area not including the dining end. I got rid of a lot of stuff but no matter how I seem to organize things, I cant seem to get everything together for a workable kitchen. Any ideas on organization and basic needs for a kitchen in a more confined space? Your kitchen is lovely by the way!

    1. Hi LIsa. I’ve had several tiny/small kitchens in my life, so I know exactly what you’re struggling with! I always found it to be the most helpful to only keep items in my cabinets that were essential to everyday needs in my kitchen. I try to keep things closest to where they’ll be used – like glasses close to the refrigerator, dishes and silverware close to the table, pots closest to the stove, etc. All of the other items, that I didn’t use everyday or very often, wound up either in a piece of furniture (like a sideboard or un-used chest in an extra bedroom), closet (sometimes we we able to add shelves to a closet if it wasn’t one we needed) or in a cabinet out in the garage. If there wasn’t enough drawer space to contain small items, I sometimes added baskets from the dollar store to contain small things that I needed access to. Ideally, I’d love being able to keep every single thing close at hand, but it doesn’t always work out that way! 😀

  7. Wonderful eye candy! Thank you for sharing so much. We recently took down a whole bunch of shutters (were between all the main living spaces, kind of odd)). I sold them all, except for two…I’m saving them for when it comes time to fix up our fireplace and mantel…would love to hang them as you have.

  8. Love the twig wreath post! The pics are wonderful! And, I’m looking forward to Part II of the Burning Questions post! >.<
