Chic Chateau Showhouse – Kitchens, Laundry Rooms and Mudrooms

|
This week we’re continuing our tour of the two Chic Chateau Showhouses by visiting the kitchens, laundry rooms and mudrooms.
To keep things in the same order as last week, we’ll visit the home built by R & K Custom Homes first.

Kitchen

Designed by Gina Alem and Melinda Bell Dickey, Alem, Dickey Designed Interiors

Tip to get this look:

Find a great new trend-inspired fabric(s) and reupholster that boring chair pad.

Laundry Room

Designed by Laura Redd, Redd Interiors and
Debbie Hayes, Annie Sloan Unfolded

Tips to get this look:

  • Use a color that is inviting, like the soft copper that pops the white cabinets off the wall.

Add small, earthy touches to white cabinets with artsy knobs.

Add an amazing chandelier to draw the eye up in the laundry room!

Display your treasures creatively – like photos clipped to repainted shutters.

Mudroom

Designed by Laura Redd, Redd Interiors and
Debbie Hayes, Annie Sloan Unfolded

Tip to get this look:

Display your treasures in an artful way.

Kitchen

Designed by Cecilia Andres-Gregg, CAG Design Group, Inc. and
Laura Mortensen, Rambunctious Rabbit Design (rambunctousrabbit@triad.rr.com)

Tips to get this look:

Vintage is the rage, so head to antique stores, consignment shops, yard sales and estate sales to find extremely well-made American products.
Trust your initial thoughts about interesting pieces – if you love it, you will use it.
Collections work well and are reasonably priced when creating interesting wall art – think sheet music, album covers and antique prints.
Create interest through layering like we did with the table, which is painted with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.

Laundry Room

Designed by Nancy McKee and Kate McKee, Total Bliss
Tip to get this look:

An industrial tone helps make the laundry room functional and bright.

Mudroom

Designed by Nancy McKee and Kate McKee, Total Bliss
Tip to get this look:

Function is the first consideration in the mudroom, which serves as a catch-all space for the family coming and going.  From wet boots to overstuffed bookbags, design must address storage, convenience and safety.

  7. Those are some gorgeous gorgeous homes. The first one with that bright kitchen and the pretty yellow kitchen set had me in awwwww.

  8. LOVE that first kitchen. All the ideas are cute, but the yellow is my favorite…
    Thanks for sharing this inspiration….
    🙂

  9. Love the tours. One thing i thought about 2nd home. Did not like the drapes or rug in kitchen. Too much. Not that i dislike the drapes , maybe somewhere else. Just seemed over powering in that room.

  10. Love those yellow chairs in the kitchen. The first house seems to consistently speak to me more than the second. It’s just a matter of personal taste but I would feel more at home there I think. Love this series. Thanks for sharing on BeColorful.
