Super easy and fast winter centerpiece in a dough bowl with candles and little snowflakes.Pin

I literally put this winter centerpiece together in 5 minutes!  You can probably tell how easy it would be to duplicate.

Any kind of a container or basket will do – it doesn’t have to be a dough bowl.  I added the long wicker basket under it, because the dough bowl looked lonely and disconnected without a little something else.

After placing the basket and bowl on the table, I added three candles to the center of the bowl.  Then I went to town tucking various types of faux greenery in the basket and in the dough bowl.  Shhh…don’t tell anyone, but I placed a scrap piece of wood in the bottom of the dough bowl before I added the candles.  The bottom of the bowl was too curvy for them to stand up straight.  And of course, you can’t even see the board with all of the greenery.

To drive home the winter theme, I added cute snowflakes that I cut out of white cardstock with a paper punch.

And adding a neutral colored table runner seems to ground the table arrangement and help it not seem like it’s “floating” out of nowhere.  Make sense?

How about you – are you experiencing decorating burnout now that Christmas is over?  If so, try something super easy and see if that doesn’t get you right back into the groove!

  1. Such a pretty centerpiece for winter! I love how you stacked two trays together to give it more height. And the tip about adding a table runner is so smart. I always wondered why my centerpieces didn’t quite look right.

Thanks so much for the inspiration!

I need to find my dough bowl. It’s not a real antique, but I love the rough cut bowl. I would not have thought about using the basket underneath, but I really like that look. Thanks for the ideas!

Pretty centerpiece and good example of how to create something quick and easy! I have a large mercury glass candle on my dining table and you’ve inspired me to look around my house to find something to add to it to ground it!
