House Tour: House Snooping at Savvy Seasons

|
Yay!  Not only is today Friday, it’s the first Friday in Spring!
Now if the weather will just go along with the calendar…

This week we’re snooping around the home of Liz at
Savvy Seasons.

I’ve been following Liz ever since I first discovered the world o’ blogs.  She has such a flair for accessorizing and decorating her home that I was sucked in from the get-go.  If you are looking for inspiration, this is the place to go.

Enjoy!

~*Welcome to the Pacific Northwest*~
Suzy, asked me to be a part of her amazing Home Tour Series, and I was absolutely thrilled when she asked me to participate, thank you so much Suzy! 🙂

I am Liz from Savvy Seasons and I share this home with my sweet hubby and four girl’s, ages 12, 11, 10, and 8. We purchased this home last May. Our home is 3685 square feet, 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, with a basement and bonus room. The first room I would like to share is the kitchen, the heart of the home, I always like to say! 😉 Our kitchen is small, but cozy!

I love to accessorize! 😉

I added these decorative iron gates to our kitchen window to make it a focal point.

I absolutely adore Tuscan Style decorating, so I’ve been slowly incorporating earthy Tuscan colors here and there.

Last summer, I hung an old vintage ladder above the Dining Room table which is so much fun to decorate through the seasons. As you can see in the photo, the ladder is all decked for Spring! 😉

Curly Willow branches along with yellow, green, and red flowers add that fresh pop of spring color!

I hung a yellow spring wreath from my curtain rod using burlap ribbon and it ties in nicely with the floral picks on top of the ladder.

Our dining area is very casual, comfortable, and cozy!

I like to refer to our hanging ladder as our “Blooming Ladder”

Sitting beneath the ladder is like having breakfast, lunch, and dinner under a canopy of flowers.

This is our home office where I love to sit and blog and read others blogs for decorating inspiration.

Our Master Bedroom is still a work in progress, so this is all I can share for now. 😉

This is a shot from the foyer looking in towards the kitchen.

I placed some vinyl wall art above the front door saying: Make each day…Your Masterpiece! It’s a great reminder to make the best of each day. 🙂
Ok, so here is the story on how we ended up with two theaters, it was purely by accident, I promise you! My hubby placed an order for everything in Theater 1 (audio, video, speakers, surround sound, etc.. etc..) and then began to have the dreaded buyers remorse, so he went on Craigslist to see if there were any less expensive deals. Guess what happened, he found a gentlemen that was moving and selling his ENTIRE theater system for next to nothing. It was such a good deal, we couldn’t pass it up. We went to the mans house and bought his whole system “assuming” we could cancel our order we just placed, just a few hours before. WRONG! So, the rest is history, we were stuck with two theater systems. We had an empty basement and decided to set up shop with Theater #2.

Below is Theater #1…

We are an Audiophile family and we love to spend time together listening to music and watching movies.

The kids love to have their friends over to play video games, too!

We save so much money having a theater of our own, as opposed to going to the movies!

Theater #1 is in the BONUS ROOM upstairs, (i.e.) the kids hangout! 😉

Here is the basement before the theater.

Here is the basement now!

The kids like to play checkers and games in this area of the basement. There is also a TV  for regular TV watching, so we don’t burn out the bulbs on the projector! 😉

Here is my Home Decor/Storage Room
(every girl needs one of these)
I love this space, because home decorating is easy when you know where everything is and everything has it’s own place. 🙂 This is where all the magic happens.

Whenever I feel the need to change things up around the house I always run down to my basement shop, as I like to call it, and look for items I may want to decorate with.

It’s so nice to be organized. I used to have all these items in stack-able bins, which made searching for things very difficult. Adding storage shelving made it so much easier! 😉

Here is Kailey and Karley’s Room!

Well, this concludes our home tour. Thank you all for visiting, and thank you for having me Suzy! 🙂 XO ~Liz

    Hi Suzy!

Thanks for taking us into Liz’s home!
I did not know I had missed so many of her rooms in her posts. She has such a knack for accessorizing her home in the most wonderful and unusual ways!
(Plus she is a sweetheart to boot.)
Thanks for sharing this with us. I want to shop in her accessory storage area too!!!

  2. I have the same area rug under my dining table. If you ever want to get rid of it, contact me.

I, as many, LOVE your use of ladders, Liz. I look at them in a whole new “light” now! If you can keep your home like this staged example of it, you are indeed a superwoman! (Especially the storage area….which by nature, in MY home, can get rather displaced during my “I have to do this NOW” moments – before I forget)!

    Beautiful photos…I am in awe!
    Thanks so much for sharing.

    1. Hi Kay. This isn’t my home so I don’t know what paint color was used. I’m sorry that I couldn’t help! 😀

Suzy! I adore your style. Can you tell me what is on top of the ladder that is hanging over the bar in the kitchen. It appears to be a lantern on one side. Can’t tell what else is up there. It looks fabulous. Thank you!!

    1. Hi Jill. This isn’t my home – it’s the home of a blogger that I featured about four years ago, so I’m afraid that I’m not going to be able to answer your question. So sorry I couldn’t help!

  6. I really love your dining table! I found a similar one but without the leaf. Where did you get this one???!!

  7. Beautiful home. You can come and accessorize my house any time! I love the tuscan style also 🙂
