Simple Modern Fall Mantel
The dining area in my daughter’s house has a fireplace that includes a mantel that they built themselves and added earlier this year. Ms. JB always does a terrific job of decorating it for the different holidays and seasons, but I do a terrible job of remembering to share it. 😉
It warms my heart to watch Ms. JB turn her house into a home. And as her mom, it’s always a huge treat for me to see how she expresses her style and creativity.
{I’m sure all you moms of adult children can relate.}
Ms. JB has a style all her own. I love how she mixes modern, vintage and traditional elements together.
Her cute and simple garland is made by simply notching pieces of washi tape that have been wrapped around baker’s twine.
The cute fox cookie jar, owl planter (love!) and the raffia orbs in the apothecary jar give it all a bit of a woodland vibe.
It all fits right in with the rest of her decor in this room.
I love this, Suzy! Your daughter did a great job and I know who she got her talent from!
It does look great, and so does the room. I love her choice of softer colors. Great impact.
And yes, as a mother, I know just what you mean. My son is a single father, and I am always “bustin’ my buttons” proud of him.♥
looks like that apple did not fall far from the tree 🙂 i have adult children and also love it when i see them making a creative and lovely home. feels like we did a good job investing in them, right? a (semi) quote from edith schaeffer’s book says a house has a door to close shut and create a safe haven for the family and swings open to invite others in for hospitality. such a blessing to see your daughter follow in your footsteps. this weekend my little 6 yr old gran love wanted to see via skype all the new decor and paint in a room i’m working on! warmed my heart to know another little homemaker/decorator is being formed!
Too cute! Love her mirror and the gray paint scheme!!
Love the mantel…and you should be proud…love her home!….Trying to catch up on your blog posts after being away…
