Weekly Wednesday Wishlist #224
Every week brings new inspiration, a fresh tip or two, and plenty of ideas a little easier. This week’s lineup I’m sharing practical decorating advice, a clever storage hack for your kitchen, and some favorite finds you may have missed the first time around.
You’ll also see this week’s favorite styling moment around my house, the little purchase that made my guest bathroom feel complete, and even a lifestyle tip for starting your mornings with less stress. There’s a lot packed in here, so settle in and enjoy this week’s Wishlist!

1. EASY DECORATING TIP OF THE WEEK: When styling a surface, like an entry table or sideboard, start with one large item that serves as the anchor piece – then style smaller items in relation to it. Anchor pieces are items such as a mirror, artwork, a lamp (or two), or a large decorative item.
Why this works: An anchor piece provides structure to a vignette on these types of surfaces and gives your eye a starting point and makes the overall display look intentional. Without it, smaller items can look scattered or cluttered.
2. DID YOU KNOW: Walnuts aren’t just for eating. Did you know that rubbing one over scratches on wood furniture can help disguise them? It’s due to the natural oils in the nut that seep into the wood and make the marks much less noticeable.
3. FAVORITE RECENT PURCHASE: I looked everywhere for something that felt both fresh and personal for my guest bathroom. This is exactly what I wanted and adds such a classic finishing touch!
4. LOVELY, GRACIOUS LIVING AND BEYOND: Simple living leads to less stress and goes hand-in-hand with gracious living. One small way to simplify your life is to have a go-to outfit formula that you can easily reach for every morning. Something like a favorite pair of pants and a rotating set of tops will remove “decision fatigue” while still keeping your look polished.
5. READER QUESTION OF THE WEEK: How do I determine the best size chandelier to go above my dining table? See #10 for the answer!
6. WEEKLY AWESOME FINDS: September’s most popular finds for your home – if you missed them the first time around, here’s your chance to check them out!
• You loved this cookware and now that I’ve been using it myself for several weeks, I can attest to how amazing it is.

• Speaking of my foyer console table – it was a hit with you in September.
• Lots of you are getting ready for entertaining season and gifting season. This covered charcuterie board is a great find.
• Halloween is fast approaching and these terracotta Jack O’ Lanterns have been quite popular.
• Or if you prefer a more affordable dupe, these have been popular too.
• It looks like many of you love a pretty monogrammed hand towel as much as I do.
• Lots of our houses are going to be smelling cozy with this ‘fall in a bowl’.
7. WEARABLE STYLE: These are the pieces that topped the list in September—classic styles worth a second look.
• Lots of us are loving these 2-piece cooling pajama sets. Coziness without overheating. Currently on sale.
• And it looks like y’all want to be stylish while you’re comfy too.
• This classic style top can be paired with so many colors.

• I need one in every color and some of the fun new prints too. Currently on sale.
• You loved this perfect little flat that will go with everything.
• This fun accessory was a bit hit too.
• New colors have been added to this favorite pajama set.
8. HOME HACK: Take advantage of a deep cabinet by adding several tension rods (place vertically, one in the front and one in the back) to hold cookie sheets and cooling racks upright. They will be so much easier to access than piled in a stack in the drawer under your oven.
9. FAVORITE STYLING MOMENT: With so many things still packed away and construction all around me at the moment, it’s nice to have a little slice of calm and a little touch of fall. You can see, from the image above, that I pulled together a couple of items that I could get access to and paired them with a new cachepot for a simple vignette on my kitchen counter.
10. ANSWER TO READER QUESTION (#5): To keep thing proportionally correct, a good rule of thumb is that the diameter of the fixture to be about half to two-thirds the width of your table. For example, if your table is 40 inches wide, look for a fixture that’s roughly 20–27 inches across. Then, hang it so the bottom of the chandelier is 30–34 inches above the tabletop. That height keeps it low enough to feel connected to the table, but high enough that no one bumps their head.

These DIY candy jars are simple to make, just spray paint thrifted ceramic houses white, hot glue them to the tops of glass jars, and fill with your favorite sweets.
8. OVER ON THE ‘GRAM: I swapped out our cotton sheets for flannel ones this week, officially declaring it flannel season in our house. But here’s something I didn’t know until followers pointed it out from the reel…the pattern on a top sheet is supposed to face down! That way, when you fold it over, the pattern actually shows. How did I never know this?!

In another bowl, mix 3 1/2 cups flour, 2 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp ginger, 1/2 tsp cloves, 1/2 tsp nutmeg, 1/2 tsp allspice. Stir dry into wet until just combined. Divide into pans. Bake 50–60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes, then transfer to a rack. Enjoy!
