Weekly Wednesday Wishlist #240

Welcome to this week’s edition of the Weekly Wednesday Wishlist. We’re gearing up for a potential major snowstorm this weekend here in NC, so I’m all about cozy ideas.

This week’s list is filled with cozy and thoughtful ideas to help your home feel warm, organized, and well cared for during the winter months. You will find an easy decorating tip that keeps everyday items tidy without sacrificing charm, a practical bit of old-fashioned homemaking wisdom, and a reminder of the comfort found in uncomplicated meals shared around the table. There are also beautiful home finds, classic wardrobe staples, and a helpful answer to a reader question about keeping papers from taking over.

I hope this week’s Wishlist offers a bit of encouragement as you settle into the quieter pace of the season and find joy in the simple, steady rhythms of home.

1. FAVORITE STYLING MOMENT: Having finally located these shelves several months after our move, I am totally enamored with how they look hanging above the toilet in our guest bathroom. For now, I’m have them styled with bits from my stash, but I’m on the hunt for a couple of different items.

2. EASY DECORATING TIP OF THE WEEK: Use baskets to corral everyday winter items like blankets, books, or slippers. Baskets add texture and warmth while keeping rooms tidy and functional during the colder months.

3. DID YOU KNOW: Did you know that rotating your mattress at the beginning of the year helps it wear evenly and extend its lifespan? Many homemakers used to mark January as mattress-turning month.

4. FAVORITE RECENT PURCHASE: My favorite purchase this week is small, but mighty. I needed a place to hold the leashes for my dogs, so that they weren’t always piled in a chair in the living room. I was very pleasantly surprised with the pair of the adorable hanging baskets that I found from Amazon. You’ll find them in the Organization section on my Amazon page. See the link below.

This week I added a section with my favorite needlepoint finds to a new section of my Amazon favorites. Click HERE to take a look!

5. LOVELY LIVING AND BEYOND: Return to Simple Meals. January is a good time to enjoy comforting, uncomplicated food. Soup simmering on the stove and shared meals at home nourish more than the body.

6. READER QUESTION OF THE WEEK: “How can I organize papers and mail without letting them take over?” See #10 for the answer!
