I’m excited to be sharing a mix of decorating ideas, favorite finds, wardrobe picks, helpful tips, and anything else I think is worth passing along each week.

Some things are seasonal, some are timeless, and a few are just plain fun. I’ve packed this week’s list with a little bit of everything—including one decorating trick I use all the time—and I hope it gives you a few fresh ideas for your own home and everyday life.

1. EASY DECORATING TIP OF THE WEEK: Is your coffee table always on the cluttered side? Try using a tray to instantly corral and style your decor—it creates a pulled-together look and makes it easy to clear the surface when needed.

2. DID YOU KNOW?: Did you know that when you subscribe to my email newsletters you’ll have full access to my entire lineup of free decorating ebooks and printables?

3. FAVORITE RECENT PURCHASE: We are right smack in the middle of trying to squeeze into a smaller house, so I am all about organizing solutions right now. These have been a lifesaver for bathroom organization until we can get around to having our bathrooms remodeled.

4. LOVELY LIVING AND BEYOND: I paid close attention to this list when we were recently prepping our home to sell. This home proves that Southern style decorating isn’t just for homes in the south and I’m here for it! You’ll never believe what this town’s claim to fame is.

5. CAN YOU ANSWER THIS READER QUESTION OF THE WEEK: “How can I make my traditional furniture feel more updated without replacing everything?” You’ll find the answer below.

6. WEEKLY AWESOME FINDS:

7. WEARABLE STYLE: Speaking of moving – my home may be topsy-turvy at the moment, but this dress with its loose, but flattering fit, paired with simple summer flats lets me look pulled together at a moments notice for dinner or any outing where I need to show up in something other paint stained clothes.

8. HOME HACK: Who knew you could do all of this with lemon peels?!?

9. ANSWER TO #5 – THE READER QUESTION: There’s no need to replace everything to update your traditional furniture! You can very affordably give it a fresh look by mixing in updated elements such as pillow covers in newer patterns and colors and by swapping old, ornate accessories with a few with simple lines and modern shapes. Get even more details in this post: How to Update Traditional Decor to Get a Fresh New Traditional Look.

10. FAVORITE STYLING MOMENT: This cheerful summer table just makes me smile. The combination of the lemon-and-blue print, the bamboo flatware, and those fun tulip-shaped goblets, creates the kind of setting that feels joyful and relaxed all at once.

9. CULINARY CORNER: Tomato Pie: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place 5 peeled and sliced Roma tomatoes in a colander, sprinkle with salt, and let sit for 10 minutes. Pat dry. Layer tomatoes, 10 chopped fresh basil leaves, and 1/2 cup chopped green onion in 1 pre-baked 9-inch pie crust. Season with salt and pepper. In a bowl, mix 1 cup shredded mozzarella, 1 cup shredded cheddar, and 3/4 cup mayonnaise. Spread over the tomato layer. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan. Bake for 30 minutes or until lightly browned. Let rest 15 minutes before serving.

10. THE LAST WORD: I’d love you to follow me on FacebookInstagram, and Pinterest!

ANSWER TO #7: July’s first full moon on the 10th is called the buck moon because bucks begin to grow their antlers in this month. July’s birthstone is the ruby. And today’s my birthday! Now you know.
