I’ve pulled together a mix of helpful ideas, stylish finds, and a few things that will make your holiday prep easier (and prettier). Whether you’re hosting Thanksgiving dinner or just easing into the season, there’s plenty here to inspire both your home and wardrobe.

9. CULINARY CORNER: Tuna Noodle Casserole: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and butter a 2-quart dish. Cook 12 oz egg noodles; drain. In a bowl, mix 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup, 1/2 cup milk, 1 cup frozen peas, 1 cup shredded cheddar, 1/2 cup grated Parmesan, 1/2 tsp salt, and 1/4 tsp pepper. Stir in 2 (5 oz) cans drained tuna and noodles. Pour into dish. Combine 1/2 cup crushed potato chips with 2 tbsp melted butter and sprinkle on top. Bake 25–30 minutes until bubbly and golden.

10. THE LAST WORD: Thanksgiving is late this year, so why not put up your Christmas tree early? Leave it undecorated and enjoy the glow during Thanksgiving dinner.

1. FAVORITE STYLING MOMENT: This week I have all things Thanksgiving on my mind. While this isn’t a “styling moment”, it’s something that has been a HUGE life and mind saver for me on turkey day! And I want to share it with you – for free – no email sign up required. You can thank me later.

2. EASY DECORATING TIP OF THE WEEK: When choosing your holiday color palette, repeat one accent color throughout your holiday décor. Whether it’s a pop of red, a soft blue, or dazzling gold, echo that color in ornaments, pillows, and ribbons.

Why this works:
Repeating a single color unifies your home and makes it feel intentionally decorated. It’s an effortless way to pull your rooms together with ease. 

3. DID YOU KNOW: Did you know that slipping a few marshmallows into your brown sugar jar keeps it soft and scoopable for all that holiday baking? It’s kitchen magic at its simplest.

4. FAVORITE RECENT PURCHASE: I was reminded of the importance of carbon monoxide detectors when we recently had a chimney sweep service both fireplaces in our new-to-us home. They are especially important if you have any gas operated devices in your home! This is what I purchased and is the brand that I’ve used before and trust. They simply plug into the wall – no other installation required.

5. LOVELY LIVING AND BEYOND: As you prepare your home for Thanksgiving and Christmas, focus on the people gathered within its walls more than the decorations.  A gracious home is one where people feel loved, not one of perfection.

  • I’ve always been a fan of these dried wheat wreaths. It is perfect to hang over a mirror or to welcome your Thanksgiving guests on the front door.
  • Paper Tabletop Christmas Trees have never been prettier. I just love the simplicity of them and it is a total bonus that they store flat for saving on storage space. These would be great if you are downsizing. 
  • These are the prettiest velvet bow stockings. They would coordinate perfectly with so many decor styles. 
  • Faux greens can be tricky to purchase, but this artificial cedar garland is truly top tier.

  • If you are looking to add a new Christmas pillow to your collection, you’ll love these Winter Berries pillow covers. They are such great quality and the embroidery just pops. 
  • These metal stocking hangers are such a smart idea! No more damaged mantels.
  • Each piece in this Heirloom Serveware is stunning, but the party bucket is a favorite of mine and it is on sale this week! 
  • This lit Beads and Wheat Garland is so elegant and will take you from Thanksgiving straight through the new year.

9. HOME HACK: When it comes to decorating for the holidays, I’ve got a great tip that your future self will thank you for. While you’re pulling out your Christmas décor, take a few extra minutes to add labels to your empty bins. I normally place them all in my Christmas tree storage bags and boxes. When it’s time to pack up in January, you’ll know exactly which container each item belongs in and cleanup will take half the time.

10. ANSWER TO READER QUESTION (#5): The secret is to treat your recliners like any other chair in your room’s design. Start by adding a throw blanket casually draped over the back or arm, and layer in a decorative pillow that ties in with your color scheme. Anchor your recliner by placing it next to a side table with a lamp, or on a rug that connects it to the rest of your furniture. The goal is to make it feel intentional, not like a stand-alone piece. Comfort and style can absolutely coexist!
